Enjoy a Night Out with The Beatles
Phoenix Art Museum partners with FilmBar to present independent, art-house films in a socially distanced outdoor space in Films in the Garden. This week’s flick is A Hard Day’s Night, which traces its roots to 1964, just one month after John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr exploded onto the U.S. scene with their Ed Sullivan Show appearance. The bandmates play cheeky comic versions of themselves in the film, capturing the moment when they officially became the singular, irreverent idols of their generation and changed music forever. Capacity is limited to 50 and masks are required. March 11-13, 7 p.m. $15. Phoenix Art Museum, 1625 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, 602-257-1880, phxart.org.

Celebrate Irish Kisses and Shamrock Wishes
Grab some corned beef and cabbage, throw back some Irish whiskey and get the party started as the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Faire shifts to a virtual event, March 13. The telethon-style party features live performances from some of Arizona’s favorite Irish bands, interviews with local celebrities and community members, and online vendors. Noon-8 p.m. The event is free to watch; donations are encouraged to support the Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library, as well as future St. Patty’s Day events. Record your own video to be aired during the festivities for $25, phxvirtualstpatricksday.org.

Let the Kids Play in the Sand
Children’s Museum of Phoenix brings the beach to Downtown March 12-13 with Sandfest 2021. The outdoor event includes sand play for kids and families, music, entertainment, photo ops with a variety of characters, a sand-sculpting competition and a one-of-a-kind sand sculpture created by the “Sand Guys” from Travel Channel’s Sand Masters show. This year’s event expands to two days to allow teams to stagger their sculpting as they compete for the coveted “Golden Shovel” first prize. The number of teams has been reduced, participants will be distanced and masks are required. March 12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; March 13, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. $14.95 for everyone 1 and older; tickets must be reserved online prior to visiting. 215 N. Seventh St., Phoenix, 602-253-0501, childrensmuseumofphoenix.org.
