This June, Arizona’s first Big Air Trampoline Park bounced into Chandler and brought with it a bevy of attractions for kids and adults. The Chandler franchise is a family affair, owned and operated by several generations of the Esparza family, which includes husband and wife, Luis Esparza and his wife Suhaireirene R. Suady Barake, who are both sports medicine and infectious disease physicians.
“Our entire family takes the health and wellness of our team members and guests very seriously,” Suady Barake says. “Utilizing our expertise, along with guidelines from the CDC and Arizona DHS, we’ve created extensive safety measures.”
These safety measures include enhanced cleaning of equipment and high touch surfaces, a nightly deep cleaning and hand sanitizing stations throughout the facility. Employees and guests must have their temperature taken upon entry and are required to wear masks.
“We’ve increased social distancing in common areas, and the park is operating at reduced capacity, so we encourage everyone to reserve a spot online,” Suady Barake says.
Though its owners are serious about safety, Big Air is all about having fun. Guests have 15 different attractions to choose from, including a mechanical bull, zip line and ValoJump, a trampoline game that integrates virtual reality. Dodgeball tournaments take place every Wednesday, and Friday and Saturday evenings offer a glow-in-the-dark experience called Cosmic Nights. Big Air also takes non-jumpers into consideration, offering a lounge area with TVs and massage chairs for downtime.
“For parents who need to catch up on work while the kids are having a blast, we offer complimentary WiFi, charging ports and plenty of spots to get comfortable,” Suady Barake says.
She insists, however, that the attractions aren’t just for kids. “The entire park is designed with fun in mind… no matter your age. All of the attractions are suitable for kids of all ages and big kids at heart.”
Opening a business during a global pandemic has been no easy feat, she says, but the feedback has been nothing but positive.
“We’ve been welcomed with open arms by the community,” Suady Barake says. “Families are ecstatic to have a place where they can have fun, stay active and make memories.”
Because Big Air is family-owned, it’s also very family-oriented. “We do our best to make sure every guest and team member feels like an extension of our family.”
That was also part of the reason they chose to set up shop in the family-friendly community of Chandler.
“We want to create lasting memories,” Suady Barake says. “We want Big Air to be the place where families enjoy quality time together and groups gather to celebrate life’s milestones.”
