The dancers in Ballet Arizona pull off impressive pirouettes, and because of the coronavirus pandemic, they’re pulling off proverbial pivots, too. The organization’s virtual season continues with two new livestreams – Inspire and The Nutcracker Suite.

Starting November 7 at 7 p.m., Inspire encompasses four new original ballet works by Ballet Arizona choreographers: “Pas de Sept” (company premiere) by August Bournonville, “Pacopepepluto” by Alejandro Cerrudo, “Inner Layers Pas de Deux” by Nayon Iovino and “Goldberg Variations 1” by Ballet Arizona artistic director Ib Andersen. If you purchase a meal from Café Forte on November 7, the restaurant will donate 10 percent of proceeds to Ballet Arizona.

Ballet Arizona’s annual holiday production, The Nutcracker Suite, goes completely virtual on December 12 and 19 starting at 3 p.m. This abridged version of the classic will stream on demand for two weekends. Viewers can also enjoy interviews with dancers and peek behind the scenes with exclusive content.

Streaming tickets for both productions cost $20 each and can be purchased at balletaz.org. Audiences will be able to stream the performances on demand from the comfort of their living rooms for 24 hours after the start time.
