Yesterday, June 1, the Arizona Department of Education released the Roadmap for Reopening Schools, designed to offer guidance to safely reopen schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. Summer Activities
Last Thursday, May 28, Governor Ducey stated that organized youth activities, including summer leagues, summer schools, day camps and youth sports, will now be allowed to resume. He also said that the state will continue to pay attention to CDC and health officials’ recommendations throughout its decision-making for the next several weeks. Some of the CDC’s recommendations for youth sports safety measures include social distancing when possible, “limiting participation to within-team competition only” or even assigning at-home practice drills for participants. Some summer camp recommendations from the CDC include staying home when one has come into contact with someone with COVID-19, following responsible hygienic and respiratory practices and wearing cloth face coverings.
