Peixoto Coffee Roasters owners Julia Peixoto Peters and Jeff Peters celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary last fall with a trip to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. Lake Louise “had just flash-frozen overnight, we got to see the blue waters underneath a thick layer of clear frozen ice,” Peixoto Peters says. “A completely unusual sight for this Brazilian girl living in Arizona!” She shares their Banff highlights.
“We were not expecting much foodie experiences… Canada surprised us in the best way possible!” They loved the “campfire-inspired menu” at Park Distillery. “Their smoked roasted chicken and smashed potatoes made us feel warm and satisfied – [even] better enjoyed with their house-distilled gin cocktails.”

The couple’s favorite restaurant in Banff is where Peixoto Peters had “one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had in my life, crafted with local gin, yuzu juice, lemon and small red serrano peppers. Warming and fresh at the same time, it was our go-to beverage after spending the day hiking [in] snowy weather.”
Peixoto Peters enjoyed the tea lattes at this shop so much that they “inspired one of the menu items of our winter menu at Peixoto Coffee,” she says. “We are currently offering a rooibos tea latte we are calling the Canadian Fog… Warming, soothing, comforting!”
