Who says you can’t travel with kids? Mingle + Graze cheese bar and kitchen owners Mahfam Moeeni-Alarcon and Cristobal Alarcon recently took their two young children and Cristobal’s parents on a three-week tour of Berlin, Leipzig and Prague. “Of the three beautiful cities we visited, Prague was by far my most favorite. It was magical!” Moeeni-Alarcon says. “Castles! Gargoyles! And beer!” She shares her favorite spots.

Prague Castle
“The detailed work on the frescoes was unbelievable,” Moeeni-Alarcon says of the ninth-century palace, “the largest ancient castle in the world.” Golden Lane (circa 16th century) near the castle was also fascinating. “The tiny homes converted to shops were so adorable. We even got to see where Franz Kafka lived!” hrad.cz/en/prague-castle-for-visitors

Café Savoy
Moeeni-Alarcon’s favorite café was “the perfect spot for breakfast or lunch, and worth the wait,” she says. “Our son, Rumi, loved their beautiful French toast” while she savored the farm-fresh eggs and ham. “Their coffee service was adorable, too, complete with sparkling water to cleanse the palate.” cafesavoy.ambi.cz

Budejovicky Budvar
“We didn’t drink water when we were thirsty, we drank beer,” Moeeni-Alarcon says. “Side history note: The original Budweiser beer is from Prague. There is a continuous dispute between American Budweiser and Prague’s Budweiser [Budejovicky Budvar] over the rights to the name.” budejovickybudvar.cz.en/home
