“PAS” Port: Looking for an arts-focused fall vacay? The interactive PASEO Project (Sept. 13-14) in Taos, New Mexico, is billed as “a participatory, multi-sensory experience” in which laser and video projections transform historic adobe buildings into “modern, moving monsters.” Groovy, right?

Cruising the Cortez: Though Rocky Point’s long-awaited deep-sea port will not be completed by its December target date, Cruise & Maritime Voyages will sail from the Sonoran burg as planned. The 550-passenger Astoria liner will embark from the city on an 11-day voyage that includes stops in Mazatlán, Cabo San Lucas and four other Mexican ports of call, with six launch dates in December and January. Passage starts at $1,699 per person.

Lovely Layover: If your airline strands you in San Francisco this fall, the experience might be a little less painful with the opening of the Grand Hyatt at SFO, billed as the “world’s quietest hotel room.” On-demand yoga and other amenities make it an OK option for long-term Bay Area visitors, too.
