Refract: The Seattle Glass Experience
As the nation’s leading region for glass art, the Seattle area often hosts interesting, interactive glass art exhibitions. This fall, the city will welcome Refract: The Seattle Glass Experience, which will feature multiple artistic platforms including art parties, demonstrations, collector events, open studios, talks and tours. The exhibition runs October 17-20.

Chefs Derek Simcik (he does the cuisine) and Kate Sigel (she does the pastries) wanted their new restaurant to prioritize human conversation, so they named it Conversation. The dishes feature international flavors and Pacific Northwest ingredients, with highlights including porchetta with salsa verde tonnato, baby squash and green strawberries; and octopus with tomato mole, mussels and salted tomatoes.

Waterfront Seattle
Conceived in 2012 and slated for completion in 2024, the Waterfront Seattle project aims to revitalize Seattle’s historical waterfront into a mixed-use district for locals and tourists. Once it’s completed, the public will have easy access to the surrounding hotels, restaurants and the Pike Place Market. The project will also provide 20 acres of parks, public spaces, walkways and protected bike lanes.
