Cafe Chenar

Visit Site

Small but stylish, this strip mall caf’ specializes in the eclectic cuisine of the Bukharian Jews, whose singular Central Asian fusion cuisine was molded by their proximity to the ancient Silk Road trade route. Anything made with dough is bound to be out of this world, so try two or three appetizers before digging into plov (an excellent spin on pilaf) or markovcha, a tangle of spicy, garlicky carrot strings, strewn with green onion and cilantro borrowed from Korea.
