Retired ad exec and amateur photographer Greg Stein shoots a stunning Prescott landscape blurred by smoke and the setting sun.
“We were casually exploring Prescott about 14 years ago after going to Phoenix for a bit of wine-related business. We knew that Phoenix weather was not going to work for us long-term. We wound up coming across an unbelievable lot at 6,000 feet with 100 mile-plus views in a Ponderosa pine forest. We bought the lot and eventually built our dream home. I shot [a lot of] pictures from my deck… and swore I would stop since I had about 100 by then. However, one morning after a storm, the sun broke through the clouds and lit up smoke that lingered from a prescribed burn and I realized I needed to break my new rule and shoot this. Still one of my favorite shots years later.”
