#2: Arizona Storytellers Project at Phoenix Art Museum, March 2
Fashion is in fashion at this storytelling event, sponsored by “The Arizona Republic” and Alliance Bank of Arizona. Speakers include Navajo clothing designer Jared Oxdx Yazzie, “Hip Historian” Marshall Shore, Ironman triathlete Sally Borg, and KJZZ producer and “natural hair vlogger” Tiara Vian, all dishing on style with style. $10 (tickets include appetizers), 7-9 p.m. March 2 at Cummings Hall at Phoenix Art Museum. tickets.azcentral.com

#3: Galactic at Livewire, March 2
You could hyphenate this New Orleans ensemble’s sonic gumbo all day long – jazz-rap-funk-rock-soul-pop-folk-electronic-etc. – but simply put, Galactic grooves like no other. Deeply danceable beats augmented by roiling, beastly bass and soulful vocals spiral into mind-blowing extended jams in their live shows. The band’s latest album, “Into the Deep,” features contributions from JJ Gray (Mofro), Mavis Staples and Macy Gray. $34.65, 7 p.m. March 2 at Livewire in Scottsdale. livewireaz.com

Galactic by Jim Arbogast#4: Daughters of Eve at Herberger Theater Center, March 3-6
The many facets of the fairer sex are celebrated in this performance by Center Dance Ensemble, set to music by Shostakovich and Schubert, and featuring “The Attic,” based on Anne Frank’s “Diary of a Young Girl” with choreography by Frances Cohen, Diane McNeal Hunt, and Nicole Olson. Arizona’s own Eric Sandmeyer also composed two original pieces for the production, which will be performed live by a quartet from Arizona Pro Arte. $28, adults; $23, seniors; $14, students. 7:30 p.m. March 3-5 and 2 p.m. March 6 at Herberger Theater Center. herbergertheater.org

#5: Work of Calligrapher Dr. Tu Chung-Kao at Arizona Capitol Museum, through Feb. 29
Dr. Tu Chung-Koa, a professor at the National Taiwan University of Arts, has won three first prizes in calligraphy at three Taiwan Provincial Exhibition of Fine Arts shows, and is an expert in using brushes to create all kinds of Chinese calligraphy, from seal script to running script to official script. This exhibit of his work is on display at the Arizona Capitol Museum through Feb. 29, and admission is free. azlibrary.gov/azcm
