Glendale Glitters
With 1.5 million lights illuminating 16 blocks of historic Downtown Glendale, Glendale Glitters boasts the largest free holiday light display in Arizona. Now in its 23rd year, Glendale Glitters features holiday entertainment, food, gifts, a children’s snow field, petting zoo and a guest appearance by Santa Claus. Horse-drawn carriage rides are available Sunday through Thursday. The display is lit from 5-11 p.m. every evening through January 9. Free to attend. ZooLights
ZooLights lights up the Phoenix Zoo with 3-D light sculptures of animals, birds and flowers. New this year are 2D butterflies and lion cubs. There’s also holiday music, photo opportunities, 4-D viewing of “The Polar Express,” camel and carousel rides, and ice sculptures on Thursday nights. ZooLights runs from 5:30-10:30 p.m. nightly through January 10. Ticket prices vary by date.

Mesa Arizona LDS Temple Gardens
For the 36th year, the public can view hundreds of thousands of lights on the grounds of the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple from 5-10 p.m. nightly through December 31. Also featured: free half-hour concerts at 7 p.m. through December 25 showcasing a variety of musical acts, including high school choirs, chamber musicians and a handbell ensemble. Free to attend.

20th Anniversary Festival of Lights
On Chandler Boulevard from 24th Street to Desert Foothills Parkway, view more than 1 million white lights amidst the ocotillo, palo verdes and saguaros.

Visit the Sepanek family home in Arcadia for hot cocoa, a snow machine, hundreds of animated characters, inflatables, six animated windows, a water feature and lights set to music.

Chris Birkett’s Winter Wonderland
The Scottsdale entertainment mogul’s home features a front yard Winter Wonderland complete with a three-story castle with computerized snowfall, and a backyard Island of Misfit Toys. Enjoy hot cocoa and roast marshmallows over an open fire. The display can be seen 6-10 p.m. until New Year’s Eve.

Patti Tasker’s Home
The Laveen resident lights up her yard with close to 300,000 lights and showcases lighted zoo animals, trees, reindeer and snowmen. Drive by from 5-11 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and 6 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Christmas on Comstock
This neighborhood Christmas collective features 13 houses with synchronized lights (more than 110,000) and music. Turn your car radio to 93.9 FM for music. The neighborhood is accepting donations for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
