Marshall, whose paintings and photographs line gallery and restaurant walls around the Valley, says she has always art-directed family dinners and written stories and poems to accompany her culinary creations. Her debut book chronicles those edible masterpieces to hilarious and often scandalous effect, with absurdist anthropomorphism and a dash of tongue-in-cheek eroticism in each photo and poem, like the image of a voluptuous female potato who caught the eye of a “fun-guy.”
