Cross the secular December holiday Festivus – introduced to the popular consciousness in a 1997 Seinfeld episode – with Phoenix and you have Phoestivus, a wintertime market celebrating its 13th year in the Valley of the Sun. Like its namesake, Phoestivus offers an “airing of the grievances” and a Festivus pole, but our Phoenician fest also boasts local vendors (200 last year), art, crafts, food, beverages, Hipster Santa Claus and Phoestivus mascot Phreddie the Yeti. The two-day bash is a fundraiser for the Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market and will set up in its new digs at the Phoenix Bioscience Core campus this year. Follow @phoestivus and @dtphxfarmersmarket on Instagram and Twitter for vendor updates. Free and open to all ages. Pets welcome. December 14 and 15, 5-10 p.m. 720 N. Fifth St., Phoenix, phoestivus.com
