Visit the Zoo from the Comfort of Your Car
Cruise the Zoo returns this summer, allowing guests to see flamingos, giraffes, elephants, tortoises, zebras, monkeys and more from the comfort of their air-conditioned car. Designed to be approximately 30 minutes in length, the narrated drive-through tour offers insights, information and facts about the animals that might be seen along the journey. Curbside food and beverage options are available for purchase. June 13, and every Sunday through July 25, 7 a.m.-noon, with the last car in line by 11:30 a.m. $50-$65, advance purchase only. Run Through the Heart of Wine Country
Lace up your running shoes and enjoy the scenic vistas of Cottonwood at the 28th Annual Vintage Run. The event begins at 6 a.m. June 12, with a half-marathon through historic Old Town Cottonwood, along the gentle hills to Sycamore Canyon Road up to Tuzigoot National Monument, where the Sinagua Native Americans once lived. The path continues on a short series of trails with views of the Verde River into Dead Horse Ranch State Park. Evening races include a 10K at 5 p.m., a 5K at 5:30 p.m. and a 2-mile event at 6 p.m. Registration is $25-$70, runcottonwood.com.

Enjoy the Soulful Sounds of a Valley Blues Legend
Live concerts have resumed at The Nash, with Francine Reed taking the stage for two concerts June 12. A Valley favorite and touring partner with Lyle Lovett for 30-plus years, the blues soulstress energizes the venue with “Wild Women Don’t Get the Blues” and other spirit-lifting gems.
