Weezer
It’s almost time for sweater weather, but if you decide to wear one to this show, there’s a good chance it will come undone. Puns aside, if you’re one of those Weezer fans who believes the band peaked with its self-titled debut, there are still a couple of reasons to check out the show. For one, there’s a good chance that the group will put “Buddy Holly” and “El Scorcho” on the setlist. And Silversun Pickups and The Shins are also on the bill. 7 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Charli xcx
Brat Summer may be long gone. RIP Brat Summer. But that doesn’t mean Charli XCX has stopped breaking new ground. Earlier this year, the alt-pop star went in a rock direction with her latest album, Music, Fashion, Film, and she’ll perform songs from the two albums when she comes to the Valley with Underscores. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Desert Diamond Arena, 9400 W. Maryland Ave., Glendale, desertdiamondarena.com

Juice
Formed in 2013 at Boston College, this multi-genre rock band started with seven members, later paring down the lineup to a more sustainable five-piece. They also relocated to Brooklyn following the release of their successful, self-titled debut EP in 2016 – but maybe the Valley of the Sun suits them even better, considering their new album (and current tour) is titled Fire in the Desert. Known for their harmony-driven forays into R&B, hip-hop and emo-style rock – and for their energetic live shows – they constitute a tantalizing let’s-check-‘em-out enterprise act this week in East Phoenix’s premier indie rock venue. Tickets $26. Rebel Lounge, 2303 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, therebellounge.com

Gorillaz
The virtual band Gorillaz is the brainchild of Blur’s Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. You may be curious how the group will perform its arena shows. We’ve been curious about that ourselves. What we do know is that Albarn, along with an 11-piece live band, will be on hand performing the band’s hits “Clint Eastwood” and “On Melancholy Hill.” 6:30 p.m. Check website for ticket prices.
