JOHN PIERCE, MD
Dr. Pierce was born in Southern California but grew up in a small town in rural Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. From there he went on to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, obtaining his M.D. degree. His internship and residency in General Surgery was completed in Phoenix, Arizona at the Phoenix Integrated Surgery Residency Program and lasted 5 years. A three-year plastic Residency was completed at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Following completion of residency, Dr. Pierce joined his friend from residency in private practice in Beaumont, Texas for three years before moving back to Arizona where he has been in practice since 2001.
Dr. Pierce is proud to be board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), The Aesthetic Society, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), and the Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Pierce has performed a full range of plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures, including burn surgery, hand surgery, wound care, breast reconstruction, microsurgery and cosmetic surgeries of the face, breast and body. He continues to perform Cosmetic surgery, focusing on the breast and body. For the past 8 years, Dr. Pierce has almost exclusively focused on explant surgery (breast implant removal surgery) with and without breast lifts and/or fat transfer. He has performed thousands of explant surgeries with total capsulectomies. Dr. Pierce has been referred to as an Explant Expert by the Breast Implant Illness (BII) community.
