Every week, we present a curated list of live music in a wide range of genres around the Valley. This week features a party for the latest album from one of the Valley’s best singer-songwriters.

December 9
Andy Bell
Try as you might, it’s impossible to hit the high notes on Erasure’s classic “A Little Respect” at your favorite karaoke bar like the duo’s iconic vocalist, Andy Bell, can. You can catch the 61-year-old perform IRL when he performs many of Erasure’s biggest hits along with some of his solo work. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. The Van Buren, 401 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, 480-659-1641, livenation.com

December 10
Colter Wall and Friends
For a Canadian, Colter Wall sure knows a lot about old-school Americana. The singer with the instantly recognizable deep, gritty baritone has the power to conjure up a stunning image in your mind with just a few words, which may be why this vintage artist has found success with both country and rock fans. He’ll perform “1800 Miles” and other hits in support of his latest album, Memories and Empires. 7:30 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, livenation.com

December 12-13
ALT AZ 93.3 Ugly Sweater Holiday Party
Break out your best-worst Christmas sweater because Blue October will be headlining this holiday-themed alternative music extravaganza. James and the Cold Gun will open. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. The Van Buren, 401 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, 480-659-1641, livenation.com

101.1 The Bounce Holiday Jam
Relive the sounds of Christmas past with this old-school concert. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Too $hort are scheduled to headline this hip-hop Christmas party along with E-40, Mýa, Paula DeAnda, Petey Pablo, DJ Quik and A Lighter Shade of Brown. 7:30 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Mortgage Matchup Center, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, 602-379-7800, ticketmaster.com

December 13
Paul Oakenfold
Paul Oakenfold has been known to DJ at some unusual locales, including the Mount Everest Base Camp. While we’re not sure how the Walter Where?House compares to being 17,598 feet above sea level, we can assume the conditions will be considerably more tolerable. 9 p.m. $30-$35, Walter Where?House, 702 N. First Ave, Phoenix, walterwherehouse.com
