Oak Ridge Boys
If you were hoping to hear the tender ballad “Ever With Me” from the Tennessee quartet’s latest album, Mama’s Boys, on its farewell tour, you might be disappointed. Chances are it won’t make the setlist because it reminds singer Duane Allen of his recently deceased wife. Allen explained to Taste of Country that it was even challenging to record the song. Yet, the group decided to include it on the album because it was so emotionally and authentically powerful. Katy Perry
The “California Gurls” singer has had quite an up-and-down year. She had literally reached the highest of highs when she joined the all-female crew of the Blue Origin NS-31 for a flight into space. Then, last month, she was brought back to earth when it was confirmed that she and actor Orlando Bloom had ended their relationship. Despite all this, she is pressing on with The Lifetimes Tour, which portrays the singer as a warrior in a video game battling against AI. By the time you read this, “Iris,” the Goo Goo Dolls’ biggest hit, will have hit 5 billion streams and become the most streamed song of all time.
