On the other hand, on Tuesday, May 13 you could go to the Tuesday Classic at Harkins Theaters to check out the challenges of growing up without a mom. The selection for the week is the John Hughes-scripted hit Pretty in Pink, from 1986, in which Molly Ringwald is trying to navigate her crush on Andrew McCarthy and the unrequited attentions of her wacky platonic BFF Jon Cryer, and instead of a loving mom to guide her, she has despondent dad Harry Dean Stanton. Tough break, kid.
