After launching custom jewelry company Origami Owl 15 years ago, Chrissy Weems and her daughter Bella Weems-Lambert caught the entrepreneurial bug again. This time, they looked to their makeup bags. “There was a gap and a need in the market for truly clean skin care that is ethically sourced and sustainable,” Weems says. The duo partnered with beauty pro Annette McEvoy to launch CMYK Cosmetics, whose name was “inspired by the simplicity of four-color printing.” That simplicity – and sustainability aim – is manifested in the Gilbert brand’s minimalist packaging, made entirely of paper and cardboard to eliminate the use of plastic.

Last year, Weems-Lambert brought her best friend, The Bachelor alumna Lauren Burnham Luyendyk, into the CMYK mix. An Instagram-ready collaboration was born. “She is just a really beautiful example of womanhood and motherhood,” Weems says of Burnham Luyendyk. Their Glow-Up collection includes a bronzer, highlighter and plumping lip gloss. Weems says these products are designed for women with busy lifestyles who prefer a natural look and are mindful of the ingredients in their cosmetics. “We created CMYK to help women feel their absolute best, to feel more confident,” she says.
