Not all businesses took a hit because of COVID-19. Some were born from its wreckage. About 10 years ago, Tiffany Schultz started a pop-up market in Queen Creek called Vintage and Vino, where she regularly featured around 50 local artisans and businesses. When the pandemic hit, she couldn’t continue hosting it at festivals and events. An offer to turn it into a pop-up at a local mall led her to evolve Vintage and Vino into Sip & Shop: A Local Collection. “The inspiration behind it was originally to give small vendors a place to sell during COVID,” Schultz says. “It was so much fun. People loved and embraced us.” Now it’s a brick-and-mortar boutique in Gilbert’s upscale Verde at Cooley Station community where customers can shop for home décor, clothing, jewelry and local food products while sipping cocktails mixed up at its on-site bar. “We wanted to create a community with our store and make it a fun experience,” she says.
