Originally from Haiti, Becca Saint Fleur moved to Phoenix after graduating from college, never expecting to enter the fashion world. But after witnessing how many bolts of fabric ended up at thrift stores, she created MELODE, where she redefines style with a sustainable edge and crafts bespoke clothing solely from upcycled and thrifted fabrics. Saint Fleur says her mission is to “revive classic fashions into a modern take for stylish individuals who are interested in expressing themselves through clothing.” Each MELODE garment is “custom-made and one-of-a-kind,” either through commission or from her collections, all embracing the wearers’ individuality. Each garment is meticulously crafted using unique thrifted fabrics, ensuring it stands alone as a truly singular creation. In an era of fast fashion, Saint Fleur hopes to eliminate the need for overconsumption, providing “timeliness and versatile looks that give people a unique sense of identity.”
