Imagine waking up, walking outside and seeing a volcano and rainforest just steps away. In late 2022, Nayara Tented Camp in Costa Rica’s Arenal National Park debuted a new expansion to the resort’s clifftop tent accommodations, making this fantasy a reality. “It’s full of lush vegetation,” says Nayara Resorts owner Leo Ghitis. The additions include a new main common area, two four-bedroom tented residences, six two-bedroom tents and eight stand-alone tents. Nayara has always been a huge advocate for reforestation and has made many efforts to return the area around the expansion to the beautiful rainforest it once was. “The best part is it’s also full of animals that have come back,” Ghitis says. “Coatis, birds, armadillos, sloths, butterflies, a family of howler  monkeys… It has been amazing to see.”
