You know it’s a festive day when giant scissors are involved.

A VIP contingency including Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt were on hand Thursday morning for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the new sportsbook facility outside of State Farm Stadium in Glendale.

BetMGM Sportsbook at State Farm Stadium is on the north side of the Great Lawn area that flanks the western part of the Cardinals home and is the first of it’s kind on an NFL property.

The two-story building features a betting counter as well as a couple dozen betting kiosks surrounding a bar and grill area that looks directly into a giant TV wall. Multiple smaller TVs hang from dropdown mounts throughout and a large font score/stats ticker is sure to attract your eyes and hold your attention when you step inside.

The sportsbook officially opens to the public at 9 a.m. on Sunday, September 11 before the Cardinals host the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 of the NFL regular season.

Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
