From a hiking and backpacking guide service to a full-blown retail store, Debbie Hendricks and the Just Roughin’ It team have conquered the highest peaks. For their next adventure, they’re stopping at Best Fest after winning Best Outdoor Outfitter.

What can attendees expect from you at Best Fest?
We are bringing some outdoor gear, but it will all be small. We are trying to focus on national brands, but we will definitely be bringing out a couple of brands that are local.

What are you most looking forward to about Best Fest?
The exposure, not only to customers, but also to other businesses.

What’s the importance of Best Fest for you?
The exposure and getting to know people around the Valley.

When and why did you start Just Roughin’ It?
We’ve been around since 2006, but we were a hiking and backpacking guide service from 2006 to 2018. Then we branched out into retail because while people think guiding is super easy, it’s actually a headache.

What’s the best thing about living and working in Phoenix?
I was born and raised here so it’s hard to say because I haven’t lived or worked anywhere else.

What’s next for Just Roughin’ It?
If everything goes right, just opening another small location years down the line.
