Anthrax
The thrash metal pioneers celebrated their 40th-anniversary last year and are finally hitting the road to celebrate with Black Label Society and Hatebreed, so now’s the time to turn The Van Buren into a “madhouse” and get “caught in a mosh.” 6:45 p.m., $55-$60, The Van Buren, 401 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, 480-659-1641, thevanburenphx.com
July 26
The Lumineers
When the folk group broke onto the scene a decade ago, Phoenix resident Alice Cooper said that labeling them as a “rock band” was an “offense.” While BRIGHTSIDE, the latest album from the Colorado band, may not change the shock rocker’s mind, there’s an edginess to songs that shows how far they’ve come to earning that label Cooper despises. 7 p.m., $34-$124, Gila River Arena, 29400 W. Maryland Ave., Glendale, 623-772-3200, gilariverarena.com

James Taylor and His All-Star Band
If you want to find out what makes James Taylor’s band “all-stars,” pay a visit to the singer-songwriter’s website (jamestaylor.com). Not only can you see videos of Taylor talking about life on the road, but you can also read interviews with the talent. Many will recognize horn player Lou Marini from The Blues Brothers or percussionist Luis Conte from playing on Dancing With the Stars. 8 p.m., $59.50-$125, Footprint Center, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, 602-379-7800, footprintcenter.com
July 28
Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls
The music world needs an injection of attitude, and the English singer-songwriter has the right mindset to get things moving in the right direction. His current tour has him playing all 50 states in as many days, and let’s face it, there’s nothing more punk than that. 6:30 p.m., $35-$38, The Van Buren, 401 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, 480-659-1641, thevanburenphx.com
July 31
Daddy Yankee
The 45-year-old reggaeton superstar announced his retirement back in March. But before he takes advantage of his AARP discount at Denny’s, he’s going out on one last tour. 7 p.m., $61-$201, Footprint Center, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, 602-379-7800, footprintcenter.com
