Avoid traffic and crowds with an early morning hike in the Hassayampa River Preserve in Wickenburg.

Getting There: From Phoenix, go north on Interstate 17 to Carefree Highway (State Route 74) at exit 223. Turn left (toward Wickenburg) and continue 30 miles to U.S. 60. Turn right (north) and continue 6 miles to the Conservancy turnoff on the left near milepost 114.

Length: 2.54 miles (six short trails)

Rating: easy-difficult;

Kid Friendly: YES

Pet Friendly: NO

Elevation: 1,900-1,980 feet

Best Season: September-May
