Utah’s ultra-luxe Amangiri resort graced the cover of our May/June 2021 issue dedicated to Southwest escapes. For a wintry escape with the same minimalist luxury, book a getaway to its Aman resorts sister property, Amangani. The resort is tucked in the beautiful mountains of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with views of Snake River Valley and the Grand Tetons. It becomes a winter wonderland blanketed in snow during ski season. With just 40 rooms, “the hotel is very small and intimate, off the beaten path,” says general manager Stuart Lang. Guests can enjoy dog sledding, snowmobile rides, sleigh rides and exclusive wildlife tours. Skiing is a prime activity, naturally, with the mountains and an average 600 inches of snow during the winter. Access to more intermediate terrain is in the works, so the slopes will be accessible to more skiers. This winter, Amangani is offering the Granite Hot Springs Adventure, where participants are taken on a day-long outing to explore nearby hot springs. “We are the southern gateway to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park,” Lang says. “Our guests come to enjoy the great outdoors.”
