What an awesome week for local craft beer releases around the Valley. So much flavor, so little time. Keep in mind, a lot of these new brews are quite popular and will sell out fast as beer lovers stock up for Thanksgiving. We’re also lifting a pint to cheers a new Pedal Haus location opening along Roosevelt Row in Downtown Phoenix and we’re celebrating the anniversaries at O.H.S.O Brewery (10 years) and The Beer Research Institute (7 years). Congrats to them and enjoy this following list responsibly. Here are the new beer releases we can’t wait to get into a glass this weekend.
We are bananas for this release every year and this one is no different. Barrel-aged in bourbon barrels, with flavors of chocolate and banana, this is one of the more popular beers in Arizona, and will go fast when it’s released on Saturday morning. That’s right, it’s not a Black Friday release as it’s been in the past. There will also be a Peanut Butter Bananarchy version that’s new this year and we’re equally going bananas over it.
While you’re at one of O.H.S.O.’s four Valley locations, look for two more seasonal releases:
The 2021 Anniversary Ale – released on Wednesday – is a west coast IPA with Idaho 7 hops that clocks in at 7.7% ABV and 77 IBU. Talk about nailing the numbers! Look for more releases this weekend, including Lord of Nothing, a barrel-aged Belgian farmhouse ale coming out on Friday and a 14% ABV imperial stout named 7 Year War, which releases Saturday.
This annual release dropped earlier this week on draft and in bottles to take home. Clocking in at 9% ABV, here is a unique style of a full-bodied lager with flavors of oak, vanilla and bourbon.
How about some liquid dessert to go with your Thanksgiving dinner? This 8% ABV stout features coconut flakes, cacao nibs from Zak’s Chocolate, vanilla and milk sugar. It releases Tuesday, November 23 in cans and on draft. You can also look for the return of The Wilderness Act hazy double IPA, which also releases on Tuesday.
One of the best brews in the entire galaxy! The stars have aligned this week for Dark Sky to bring back its uber-popular stout. This is essentially cookies and cream loaded into a beer format, checking in at a whopping 14.3% ABV.
