Creating clothes was more than an artistic pursuit for Phoenix designer Kelsey Garner – it was a method of healing. “I struggled with an eating disorder for five years, so my whole goal was to bring a clothing brand where everyone felt good about their body,” she says. She established her “slow fashion” line K.S. Garner seven years ago, when inclusiveness wasn’t a trending topic like it is today for major retailers. “From the time of starting my brand, I’ve always been size-inclusive,” she says. From her “personal struggles” came a line of women’s clothing in sizes ranging from XXS to 4XX. Her most popular collection is Luna, which pairs stretch velvet tanks and cropped pants with ruffled edges, perfect for “dancing wild and free.” The pants come in 12 colors, from black to teal. “I learned a lot about loving yourself and loving the skin you’re in, so I wanted to spread that to everyone.”
