Halloween weekend is shaping up to be one of the more decadent couple of days of the year – and we’re not talking about the snack-size candy bars your neighbors hand out. This week’s list of new craft beer releases is thicker and stronger than perhaps any other weekend of the year. So send the kids out trick-or-treating and sit back and responsibly enjoy one of these craft beers from a local brewery. Cheers!

King Size Candy Bar Milk Stout at Fate Brewing

In the famous words of the late Dennis Green (former Cardinals coach): “If you want to crown them, then crown them!” We give the crown to this souped-up variant of Fate’s popular Candy Bar Milk Stout. Aging in whiskey barrels brings this up to 11% ABV and is the perfect sipper for an evening of sitting by the firepit with friends. King Size releases Saturday, October 30 for $9 per can or on draft at each of the three Fate locations in Scottsdale and Tempe.

Pecan Pie Trio at Arizona Wilderness Brewing

Variety is the spice of life, as they say. You’re getting three varietals of Arizona Wilderness’ fan fave pecan/vanilla bean/lactose/maple syrup Brown Ale this weekend: the regular Pecan Pie, an 11% ABV Double Pecan Pie version and a barrel-aged style that clocks in at 13% ABV thanks to patiently waiting for 12 months inside Willett Bourbon barrels. All three hit the tap lines and are available to take home in cans starting Thursday, October 28.

Candy Themed Beers at Simple Machine Brewing

One of our favorite beers this time of year, Pillow Mint, makes its return along with a new Peanut Butter Chocolate version. We remember last year’s Pillow Mint Chocolate Porter to be a phenomenally smooth and delicious dark beer version of a classic Andes Mint. One guess what the new PBC style is meant to taste like. Peanut Butter Chocolate Porter released earlier this week and Pillow Mint is back starting on Thursday.

Winter Style Beers at Tombstone Brewing Co.

Winter is coming – or so Ned Stark thought before he said one too many mean things to Queen Cersei and King Joffrey (spoiler alert). Ol’ Eddard would be proud to know that indeed his famous catchphrase is coming true this week at Tombstone Brewing with the release of its new Winter Ale, the return of Russian Imperial Stout and a recent chocolate pecan pie stout collaboration with The Casual Pint that has rested in bourbon barrels for two years. No wonder the White Walkers wanted on the other side of the wall.
