Thirsty Thursday: New Craft Beer Release from Arizona Breweries (August 13)

It looks like we’re in for another scorching hot weekend here in the Valley, with temperatures in the yuck range for as long as the forecast can see. However, this blog is about those things we can enjoy at approximately 45 degrees Fahrenheit: beer. Here’s what your local breweries are serving up chilled and brand new for the week of August 13.

Front Pourch Brewing (Phoenix)

Mask*com*mu*ni*ca*tion, 5.6% ABV wheat beer. Brewer’s note: Easy-drinking, has a smooth mouthfeel and subtle notes of apricot.

Beer Research Institute (Mesa)

  • Top Secret Battle Monkey double IPA is being teased online for a Friday release, but again, it’s always a secret when this one comes out.
  • Mjango Unchained, 9.6% ABV double IPA brewed with mangoes. Blogger’s note: This beer is one of my favorites in all of Arizona!

Helio Basin Brewing (Phoenix)

  • Chasing Shade, 5.1 % ABV light summer pale ale. Releases on Friday, August 14.
  • Pool Brew, 4.9% ABV light beer with lime. Releases on Friday, August 14.

Goldwater Brewing (Scottsdale & Mesa)

Towin’ Oats, 5% ABV session hazy IPA. Releases on Friday.

CoRn, 4.6% ABV American adjunct lager. Releases on Friday.

Wren House Brewing (Phoenix)

  • Wally & The Gang, 10% ABV triple IPA. Available in four-pack cans for $22. Make sure to order a Wally glass to enjoy your TIPA.
  • Little Spill Pils, 4.3% ABV German-style pilsner. Available in six-pack cans for $18.

OHSO Brewing (4 Valley locations)

  • Partly Cloudy, 5.6% ABV IPA canned this week, available to go or on draft.
  • OHSO Hoppy, 7% ABV American IPA canned this week, available to go or on draft.

Desert Monks Brewing (Gilbert)

New sour combo packs available. Each 4-pack features two dry-hopped sours, a Wyabbo sour and a Chamoy sour. Online ordering available to enjoy these at home.

Arizona Wilderness (Gilbert & Phoenix)

  • Hellsgate Helles, a Franconian-style lager is on tap at the Gilbert location and available in 4-packs starting Friday.
  • Bright Angel, an imperial blonde ale is on draft and available in crowlers to go.

8-Bit Aleworks (Avondale)

Untitled Gose Game Fruity Pebbles Variant, 3.9% ABV sour. Between old school video games and sugary cereal, the folks at 8-Bit are reliving my exact childhood via their brewery!

TCBC – Transplant City Beer Company (Litchfield Park)

Sa’ Bro, 7.2% ABV double New England IPA. Available to buy in 24-oz. cans, crowler and growler fills.

Throne Brewing (Glendale & Peoria)

  • Orange Wheat, 5.4% ABV wheat beer.
  • Bell Road IPA, 6.7% ABV west coast IPA is available in four-pack 16-oz. cans.

Grand Avenue Brewing Co. (Phoenix)

Azacca IPA, 6% ABV single hop IPA on tap.

Grand Canyon Brewing (Williams & Flagstaff)

Pumpkin Springs Porter, 8% ABV spiced porter. Releasing in four-pack 16-oz. cans in the next two weeks.

Historic Brewing (Flagstaff & Williams)

Frosted Tips, 5.3% ABV Belgian blonde. Available on tap at both locations.

Dark Sky Brewing (Flagstaff)

Jamaica de Mezcal, 5.5% ABV mixed fermentation sour brewed with Hibiscus flowers and aged in Mezcal barrels.

That Brewery (Pine & Cottonwood)

Fossil Creek Arizona IPA is now available in 15-pack cans.

Dillinger Brewing (Tucson)

Cash Me Inside, 9.5% ABV hazy double IPA available in four-pack cans.

Harbottle Brewing (Tucson)

Fizzy Lizzy, 8% ABV tropical seltzer. Available on draft in the taproom.
