Freedom Fest 2020 at the Princess – Reimagined
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is hosting its 2020 Fourth of July Freedom Fest this year in compliance with new social distancing guidelines. Guests will be able to participate in the Fairmont fishing derbies from 8-10 a.m. on July 4, for $10 per person. The hotel will also host an airshow at 4:45 p.m. with over 30 military aircrafts piloted by veterans. Fireworks shows will occur at the hotel Friday and Saturday night at 9 p.m. Recommended viewing locations include the resort’s lawns for guests and from the drive-in movie lot or Toro Latin Restaurant and Rum Bar for non-guests.

Arizona Celebration of Freedom
Titan Solar Power’s Arizona Celebration of Freedom is hosting a free drive-in fireworks show for visitors on July 4. The event has adjusted guidelines to accommodate social distancing, including parking in every other spot and staying on one side of the car throughout the show. The event also requires face coverings if attendees cannot safely distance from those outside of their group. The Celebration of Freedom will be held at 1425 W. Southern Ave. and the parking lot opens at 7 p.m. The fireworks show is from 9-9:30 p.m., although there will be limited space, so it is recommended that guests arrive early.

Cruise the Zoo
The Phoenix Zoo is hosting its Cruise the Zoo events every first Thursday through Monday of June, July and August. This month’s event falls on the Fourth of July weekend. Tickets for Friday through Sunday have already sold out, but if you’re looking for something to do on Monday, there are spots still available. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., and all cars need to be lined up by 11 a.m. in order to participate. Member tickets are $50 per car and general tickets are $65 per car.

TUNE IN VIRTUALLY
Hamilton on Disney+
Hamilton, the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, is out on Disney+ today, July 3. Created by composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, this story depicts the life of Alexander Hamilton, the first U.S. Secretary of Treasury. Hamilton first hit the stage in 2015 and is now offering a recorded performance for fans to enjoy through Disney’s streaming service, Disney+.
Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular
Tune in to NBC at 8/7c, or 5 p.m. MST to watch the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular. To accommodate social distancing, the fireworks were set off and recorded this week in different places. The two-hour event will cover those fireworks shows, as well as a live show at the end. Featured performers will include National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman, as well as the Black Eyed Peas, John Legend, Brad Paisley and more. An encore performance will start at 7 p.m. MST on NBC.
