Coronavirus Cases Hit 22,000
With an increase of 973 cases reported on June 3 by the Arizona Department of Health Services, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Arizona has reached 22,223. Since Monday, reported cases by the ADHS have increased by 10.4 percent. Maricopa County has the most reported cases in the state, with 11,068 cases.

Death Toll Increases to 981
The Arizona Department of Health reported 40 new COVID-19 deaths today, June 3, bringing the total up to 981. People aged 65 and older make up 759, or 77.4 percent of these deaths.

Arizona’s Plan Moving Forward
With the reopening of several summer activities and schools resuming in the fall, Governor Ducey said in his update on Thursday, May 28 that the plan is to focus on gradual and phased in returns, balancing public health and returning stronger, increasing testing and maintaining physical distancing as well as monitoring CDC and other health officials’ recommendations throughout the month of June.
