The newest addition to uptown Phoenix is its first-ever neighborhood hotel: ARRIVE. The Los Angeles-based hotel company is scheduled to open this fall, inside the restored twin towers at Camelback Road and 4th Avenue (400 W. Camelback). The hotel will feature 79 rooms, and a number of unique local offerings – from coffee to drinks by the pool to popsicles. It aims to bring an experience to uptown Phoenix that is for locals, by locals.

Here are a few reasons to make ARRIVE your next staycation destination.

1. Cartel Coffee Lab – Uptown Edition
How does freshly baked treats and single-origin coffee sound? Yes, the well-known Cartel Coffee Lab is now going to be housed in ARRIVE. Although this is not the boutique roaster’s first collaboration with ARRIVE, it will be its first Uptown Phoenix location. Paul Haworth, Cartel’s Director of Brand, says that “ARRIVE and Cartel had an instant chemistry,” and that Cartel is looking forward “to being a part of the Uptown Phoenix neighborhood for decades to come.”

2. The ‘70s Inspired Cocktail Lounge: Don Woods’ Say When
The rooftop cocktail lounge features 270-degree city views and dining inspired by a specific chapter titled “Say When” in Thomas Mario’s Playboy’s Host & Bar Book. The bar’s cocktails served are retro-modern, while the bar bites take diners back to the ‘60s and ‘70s with fondue, shrimp cocktail and canapes. The lounge is dedicated to Don Woods, a longtime Arizona real estate developer who held an office inside the building for decades.

3. Enjoy drinks by the pool with Lylos’ Pool Bar
Ross Simon, the owner of the award-winning cocktail bar Bitter & Twisted and co-owner of Little Rituals in Downtown Phoenix, is leading the way with this cutting-edge pool bar. The bar will feature fun and cooling cocktails like shandies, craft canned beer and wine, shareable punch bowls and a rum-spiked version of the Dole frozen pineapple drink. Lylo, an English term for pool floats, will be open daily and in addition to drinks, will serve an all-day menu of light Asian-influenced bites.

4. Let’s Eat!
Dining at ARRIVE will be led by the Director of Restaurants, Alex Resnick, a Culinary Institute of America graduate who has worked with a number of incredible chefs. His goal for the hotel’s food? He says it’s “to offer straightforward, uncomplicated food that’s 100 percent focused on flavor, integrity and attention to detail.”

5. Popsicles and Check-In?
To start your staycation right, all hotel guests will be able to enjoy complimentary Mexican-style popsicles called paletas. Paletas are a different take on popsicles; they feature fresh ingredients such as nuts, whole fruit, and flowers. Locals can also drop by and enjoy the popsicles, and an ever-changing menu that will debut exclusive flavor collaborations.
