Tanios S. Bekaii-Saab, MD, FACP, is a medical oncologist with a focus on gastrointestinal cancers. In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Bekaii-Saab serves as the leader for the Gastrointestinal Cancer Research Program at the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center. He is the vice-chair and section chief for the Mayo Clinic Department of Medical Oncology in Arizona. Dr. Bekaii-Saab’s research interests in gastrointestinal cancers are focused on the incorporation of agents that precisely target the multiple facets of cancer, including specific genetic drivers and the immune milieu. The overarching goal of his work is to identify the best-suited approach for the patient’s situation.
