Cumara O’Carroll, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor of neurology and program director of the Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic. She completed a neurology residency and stroke fellowship at Mayo Clinic before joining Mayo. Her practice involves management of stroke and neurological emergencies, and she is the Telestroke Site Director. She has a special interest in stroke in the young, vasculitis, global neurology, and healthcare disparities. She was the recipient of the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award in 2014; Educator of the Year 2015-2016 Mayo Clinic Arizona Resident’s and Fellow’s Association; Teacher of the Year 2015-2016 Neurology Residency Program; and 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Award Mayo Clinic Arizona.
