2. Torch at Nirvana at Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa – April 27
The inaugural culinary festival at Sanctuary features several meals by celeb chefs including Scott Conant and Todd English cooking alongside local bigwigs like Gio Osso and Justin Beckett. Kick things off at Torch, or the “ultimate Tiki Takedown,” hosted by Food Network star Chef Robert Irvine and craft cocktail connoisseur Jason Asher. The Tiki cocktail competition will feature six of the Valley’s best bartenders, and you vote for the winner. 3. Chalk Art Festival at Tempe Marketplace – April 29
Everyone is welcome to watch as local artists create original 8-by-6-foot chalk pieces on canvases at Tempe Marketplace. Take the kids over to the KidZone so they can participate in the community mural where chalk and art instructors will be available. 5. Wonderland: Childsplay’s Rock & Roll Gala at Tempe Center for the Arts – April 29
Don’t be afraid to fall down this rabbit hole – Childsplay Theatre brings Alice to life in a way you’d never expect. A rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack follows the girl on her wild adventures, with the actors also playing instruments as members of the band.
