#2: Lindsey Stirling at Changing Hands Bookstore – Jan. 20
Speaking of sonic hybrids, Gilbert girl Lindsey Stirling combines classical violin with electronic dance beats and dub step, and has achieved acclaim for her 2014 album “Shatter Me,” which won a Billboard Music Award for “Top Dance/Electronic Album.” With her new memoir, “The Only Pirate at the Party” (Simon & Schuster), she adds “author” to her list of trades. See and celebrate that spirit of Southwest pop art with an artist’s reception featuring Newman, and music by Pat Roberts and the Heymakers. Free, 7 p.m., at Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale.
