Desert Overture, Phoenix’s Premiere LGBT and Ally Wind Ensemble and Desert City Jazz, present A Fireside Christmas, a holiday concert celebration on Sunday, December 12 at 3:00 pm at the Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 West Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281. Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for seniors and students. Children, 12 and under, are free. Tickets are available at or All attendees will be required to show proof of complete vaccination or proof of a negative COVID PCR test within 72 hours of the start of the performance. Also, everyone is required to always wear a mask inside the building. Desert Overture, with its more than 50 musicians, was formed in 2010 and remains a hidden cultural gem in the Valley of the Sun. The concert band is an active member of the PRIDE band association, which has grown to 37 member bands across the country, as well as internationally. The group is a regular in the PRIDE parade, while performing several major concerts each year. Desert City Jazz is a full-size jazz ensemble comprised of many of the best jazz musicians in the Phoenix area’s LGBT and Ally community. Formed in 2015, the band performs to sell-out crowds in venues such as The Nash jazz club, Clarendon Hotel sky deck, and Tempe Center for the Arts. “The holiday concert is always a crowd favorite,” said Scott Helms, Desert Overture Artistic Director. “With an entertaining variety of holiday selections, the audience will not be disappointed.”
