In desperate need of screen-free programming for the kids over spring break? Mesa’s idea Museum can help. In December, the museum reopened after a three-month renovation and brand refresh – punctuation nerds will note the jettisoning of the periods in the old i.d.e.a. Museum name. “Our previous logo was created about a decade ago,” director Jarrad Bittner says. “At the time, we emphasized the meaning behind the name – ‘idea’ as an acronym for imagination, design, experience and art… While those core values are still very much at the heart of what we do, we wanted to simplify the brand for clarity and impact.” The reimagined space has an expanded footprint, new activities, fresh exhibitions and exterior improvements including murals and interactive public art installations. This March, it will also debut the idea Lab, offering STEAM tools and technology like 3D printers. “Parents have told us their children are exploring in new ways, discovering fresh inspiration and finding more opportunities to create with our expanded programming,” Bittner says. “There’s so much more to come, and we can’t wait to continue this journey with our  visitors.” ideamuseum.org
