Craving high-altitude scenery and Southwestern culture? Head to Santa Fe, where you can experience local art, feast on New Mexican cuisine and enjoy the mountainous landscapes “The City Different” has to offer. Here’s what’s new.

Sky Railway Adventure Train
A group led by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin restored and reinvented a 141-year-old railroad line, turning it into an ingenious new adventure/entertainment experience. In 2022, they launched themed rides – Murder Mystery, The Stargazer and Sunset Serenade, to name a few – that start in the Santa Fe Railyard and go 18 miles to Lamy, New Mexico. The train’s immersive experiences aim to preserve locomotive history and appreciation.

Tumbleroot Pottery Pub
Angela and Jason Kirkman’s love story and their love for their respective trades – pottery for her, distilling spirits and brewing beer for him – spawned this pub/pottery studio near the Santa Fe Plaza. Sip cocktails and craft your own pottery, then take home a bottle of Tumbleroot Brewery & Distillery Gin and ceramics from Paseo Pottery.

La Fonda on the Plaza Chocolate Experience
The historical hotel’s newest tour is dedicated to the sweet’s history and impact in the Southwest and Mexico. Enjoy chocolate like the Aztecs did or try contemporary chocolate creations from local shops with interesting ingredients that’ll leave you hungry for more.
