Todd Carey founded Uncle Bear’s as a restaurant back in 2000. It wasn’t until years later that he made the call for Uncle Bear’s to start making its own beer and then eventually becoming a full-on brewery. Today, Uncle Bear’s craft brews are flowing from every tap at each of its six Valley locations.
Meanwhile, head brewer Drew Ortega is exploring new styles and ingredients, but still winning awards! Uncle Bear’s Ocean Beach West Coast IPA won bronze in the American IPA category at the inaugural ACBA (Arizona Craft Beer Awards) in October.
The episode has details on upcoming collaborations, the Pints for Paws program that benefits the Arizona Humane Society and we learn what keeps brewers up at night.
