Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner was found guilty of drug possession and smuggling by a Russian court and sentenced to nine years in prison, according to reports early Thursday morning.

Griner was arrested in February at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport for cannabis possession and has been detained in Russia since. Some believe the verdict and sentencing could lead to a U.S.-Russia prisoner swap.
