Do you ever stand in front of the wine section at the grocery store overwhelmed by the number of selections? The labels are so enticing, but how good is the wine? Sometimes you buy a bottle and you’re disappointed, and other times you hit the jackpot. For those who would like to take the guess work out of selecting a winner, PostinoWine Café has recently launched the Postino Wine Cult, a subscription-based wine club.
When you sign up – $60 a quarter or $220 annually – you’ll receive a box with four “guaranteed great wines” four times a year selected by Postino’s beverage director and advanced sommelier, Brent Karlicek. You’ll also receive perks for signing up, including a Wine Cult tote bag and a complimentary bottle of wine from Postino’s regular menu. Additionally, members will get 20 percent off Postino’s bottles of wine to-go, exclusive access to small batch wines, first tastes of the wine bar’s seasonal By the Glass wines and “monthly hookups redeemable for something you can eat, drink or experience.”
Each cult box will have four hand-picked selections with a mix of red and white wines, which members can pick up at one of the restaurants. “It’s really a club about enjoying good wine, having fun and experiencing something new,” Karlicek says. And he should know. According to the Postino website, Karlicek tastes about 2,500 wines per year. Cheers!
