Dr. Samine Ravanbakhsh recently joined the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Arizona.
Dr. Ravanbakhsh received her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University. She completed a general surgery residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center.
Her practice incorporates all aspects of general thoracic surgery, including mediastinal, pulmonary, and esophageal diseases. She has extensive training in a variety of minimally invasive approaches, including thoracoscopy, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery. Her areas of expertise include the management of esophageal diseases, thoracic outlet syndrome, and hyperhidrosis.
Dr. Ravanbakhsh has a passion for education and mentorship. She is involved in the training of surgical residents and medical students. As a lead investigator in multiple research projects, she presents nationally on her expertise. She is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and Women in Thoracic Surgery.
