Maple & Ash isn’t your average steakhouse. The award-winning, Chicago-based concept combines a contemporary aesthetic and a slightly irreverent vibe with classic wood-fired fare and one of the best wine lists in the world, according to Wine Spectator.
Starting Tuesday, August 20, Maple & Ash will be open in Scottsdale Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.
Though Scottsdale isn’t hurting for steakhouses, the modern eatery is helmed by two-Michelin-star chef Danny Grant who serves up playful, signature dishes that set it apart. Try the famed fire-roasted seafood tower, which allows guests to grub on an assortment of seafood like scallops, oysters, lobster and Alaskan King Crab roasted in the hearth and doused in garlic butter and chili oil. Or opt for the cheeky chef’s tasting menu, dubbed “I don’t Give a F*@k.” Guests can also look forward to dry-aged steak, handmade pasta and a robust list of sides including fire-crisped shishito peppers, mac and cheese and Yukon Gold gratin.
Early in his career, Grant lived in Scottsdale and spent six years in the kitchen at Elements Sanctuary Resort in Paradise Valley, where he met talented chef Sean Currid. The two teamed up again to open Maple & Ash.
“This has been an incredible journey, and we can’t wait to open our doors to the Scottsdale community,” Grant says. “It has been a dream of ours to come home to where I began my culinary career and share the Maple & Ash experience.”
The eatery will open at the new Scottsdale Waterfront in an expansive 10,000-square-foot space previously occupied by Wildfish Seafood Grille. The restaurant features an airy dining room and lounge as well as a stunning outdoor deck. However, the huge 14-foot wood-burning hearth takes center stage. And, of course, it contains a couple key ingredients – maple and ash.
