Cardiologist
Med school: University of Oklahoma. Trained at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Years in practice: 15
My days I volunteered in the ER during the war in Lebanon and my parents’ influence (both physicians)
inspired me to be a doctor.
I love my specialty because: it keeps me in touch with
people from all walks of life and because my work makes a difference.
My best day on the job so far was when: a patient was being taken to hospice. I insisted to allow me to work on
her heart… now she is golfing today! The second best day is when a wheelchair-bound patient was about to have his right arm amputated. My intervention saved his arm – and his livelihood.
My worst day on the job so far was when: my expectations and those of my patient were not met!
If I weren’t a doctor, I would be: a helicopter ski guide.
When I’m not working, I love to: mountain bike, play soccer, heli ski and spend quality time with my family and friends.
I should know better as a doctor, but I just can’t help indulging in: deluxe burgers.
If I could change anything about health care, I would: make sure
that everyone receives health care coverage.
Medical marijuana: Yay or nay? Why not dude?!
If my patients could describe me in three words, they’d say I am: friendly, caring and attentive to their needs.
