Susan Sorosky, MD

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation/Pain Management

Med school: University of Texas – Southwestern

Years in practice: 6

My father inspired me to be a doctor.

I love my specialty because: it allows me to fulfill my passion of helping reduce pain and moreover improve patients’ function and quality of life!

My best day on the job so far was when: any day that I can help a patient achieve their goal of alleviating their pain or getting them back to doing whatever they love.

My worst day on the job so far was when: any day that a
patient is dissatisfied with the results of their care.

If I weren’t a doctor, I would be: a full-time yogini
(and mom!).

When I’m not working, I love to: spend time with my
husband and boys, practice yoga, and travel.

I should know better as a doctor, but I just can’t help indulging in: sweets, sweets, sweets (I have a horrible sweet tooth!)

If I could change anything about health care, I would: try to
limit third-party insurance limitations on what doctors order.

Medical marijuana: Yay or nay? No comment…

If my patients could describe me in three words, they’d say I am:
thorough, compassionate and energetic!

Best TV medical drama ever: Grey’s Anatomy
